At your first visit, we’ll go over your new patient forms and confirm your insurance benefits, if applicable. Please fill in your completed forms and your insurance card with you to speed the check-in process. You’ll meet one of our Doctors and associates to discuss your current oral health concerns and future goals. The doctor will perform a thorough exam that addresses teeth, gums, jaw joint function, bite alignment, and the condition of existing dental work. We’ll take xrays using our low radiation digital xray machine, and we may use an intraoral camera to take pictures inside your mouth for a thorough screening.
You may pay for your dental work with cash, personal check, Master Card, or Visa. We’ll file your dental insurance claim for you, work with your insurance company to maximize your reimbursement, and can accept assignment of benefits from your provider if allowable. This means that your insurance provider will remit payment directly to our office and you'll only be responsible for your deductible and the uncovered portion of your treatment at the time of your visit. Be sure to bring your insurance information to every appointment. We'll verify your benefits and help you understand coverage.
Dental emergencies don't wait, and neither do we. If you're experiencing severe tooth pain, swelling, or any dental trauma, our team of U of T alumni dentists is here to provide immediate, compassionate care—right in your neighborhood. We treat emergency cases on priority so call our office as soon as your emergency occurs. We will address your situation and relieve your discomfort, then schedule a follow-up appointment, if necessary, to perform additional dental work. A good rule of thumb: if you’re in significant pain, your tooth has been damaged, or you notice swelling that isn’t stopping, call us immediately . We’d rather assess the situation than have you wait on something that needs attention now.
Dental emergencies rarely happen during business hours. We offer weekend and after-hours emergency care; call our emergency line, and we’ll guide you through what to do and get you in as soon as possible
1. Stay calm – Panicking makes the situation harder. Take a deep breath . 2. Assess the situation – Is it a knocked-out tooth, severe pain, or another issue? 3. Manage pain – Over-the-counter pain relievers (like ibuprofen) and a cold compress can help temporarily . 4. For bleeding – Apply gentle pressure with a clean cloth or gauze . 5. Call us immediately – The sooner we know, the sooner we can prepare for your care. 6. Avoid eating or drinking before your appointment
Most dental emergencies are best handled by a dentist—emergency rooms are not typically equipped for dental care, and you may wait hours just to be referred to a dentist . However, you should go to the hospital if you experience: 1. Difficulty breathing or swallowing 2. Uncontrolled bleeding that won't stop with pressure 3. Severe facial trauma involving potential jaw fractures 4. Swelling that obstructs your airway 5. For life-threatening emergencies, call 911 immediately.

Immediate pain relief – We use local anesthetic and, when appropriate, sedation to ensure your comfort . Digital X-rays – To see what's happening beneath the surface, including infections and fractures .
